In Vino Veritas
A bi-weekly discussion group for grad students and young professionals
In Vino Veritas is an informal discussion group, led by Fr. Sebastian, the chaplain, on matters of perennial importance and contemporary relevance. Past topics and discussions have regarded statements about God and the world from the Holy Father, and for the 2015-16 academic year, we discussed the ten commandments, the role of women in the Catholic Church, the Church's teaching on marriage, and prayer. Beginning with the Fall of 2016, we will discuss the Beatitudes.
The Beatitudes reveal the goal of human existence, the ultimate end of human acts: God calls us to his own beatitude...The Beatitudes confront us with decisive choices concerning earthly goods; they purify our hearts in order to teach us to love God above all things. (CCC 1719; 1728).
