GradLaw & Young Professional Ministry

Sponsored by NYU, this ministry offers fellowship for young professionals and graduate/law/medical students aged 35 and under. More than 50 young adults gather each Sunday after the 6:00 p.m. Mass for free dinner and fellowship, discussions about contemporary religious and moral issues, as well as for the occasional activity outside the traditional church setting.

The first "grad-law" dinner of the new semester will be Sunday, January 31st. We'll meet afterwards to continue our "In Vino Veritas" discussions. The next one will be on the 7th commandment: Thou Shalt Not Steal.

The Weekly Dinner: Ca. 7:15 p.m. at the Catholic Center (after the 6:00 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph's)

IN VINO VERITAS: every other week Fr. Sebastian leads a discussion on the faith over the finest vintages Carlo Rossi has to offer. This year's topic will be the Decalogue. In each session we'll discuss one of the ten commandments, focusing in particular on what they are meant to free us from and what the are meant to free us for. Are they really abiding and eternal laws? Do they have any variation? Are there ever times when they are not applicable?  Come, imbibe, discuss.

The schedule, for now:
9/27: Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
10/18: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
10/25: Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy
11/8: Honor thy father and mother
11/22: Thou shalt not kill
12/6: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
